I found these to work very well as a smaller PA system in a church installation.
I did test and play these at higher volume for a few hours to make sure they could handle higher output and they were rock solid.
I was able to get a great sound (plenty of low end) by using a crossover at 55hz 48db curve and around 14kHz 6db curve. I also limited a 250watt amp. to produce clean power and not to go over 100watts.
Only voice and acoustic instruments used in the PA. These sound very natural and are EQ-able in a tough smaller echo filled room.
These had a slight peak around 250Hz, 1kHz and 2.5kHZ. I placed them in insulated walls. Got pretty flat response from 50Hz on up to 12kHZ.
Very easy to install. The only negative would be that the screws to tighten the wall clamps down are VERY tight and hard to "screw" in. I couldn't feel when I was tightening up against the sheet rock causing some minor "bubbling" by the "feet".
Purchased these for our family room last year. Worried that using in ceiling speakers wouldn't give great sound. Boy was I wrong! Loved them so much we just installed them in our bedroom. Highly recommend! (Posted on 8/10/12)
Wow... I had a friend of mine who's an electrician install the wiring and cut the holes in my basement home theater room. I purchase 4 ceiling mounted speakers from InWall and then bought the other two speakers (center and sub) from other sources. Upon opening up one of the speaker boxes I noticed that the back of the tweeter cone was loose. I was able to twist it back in place and then install the ceiling speakers myself mounting them in the holes cut by the electrician. It was so easy to install them... no problems at all. The speakers all sounded great. I was expecting the "damaged" one to perhaps have some vibrations or other problems since I just hand tightened the tweeter backing on. It worked great though.[...] (Posted on 7/3/12)
Very happy with my HD 650 speakers. I had my home pre-wired and wanted everything hidden in the ceiling. I purchased three of the speakers (two front and a center speaker) that come down at a 20" angel and Brian (who is awesome) helped me pick out the rear matching speakers. I have Bose in my garage that do not sound half as good as my my 650's. I think you cannot beat these speakers for this kind of price point. (Posted on 10/13/00)
